The basics
What Standupd is, what it costs, and where you can use it.
What is Standupd?
Standupd is a diary for stand-up comedy. Log a special you streamed or a set you saw live, rate it from 0.5 to 5 stars, and add a review when you have something to say. Your entries become a public record of what you watched and what you thought.
How does Standupd work?
Search Standupd, open a special, and log when and how you watched it. Rate it from 0.5 to 5 stars in half-star steps, then add a review if you want to. Standupd saves the entry to your public diary.
Is Standupd like Letterboxd for stand-up comedy?
Yes. The shape will be familiar: one page per special, half-star ratings, public diaries, watchlists, and reviews attached to each title. Standupd is independent and has no connection to Letterboxd.
Who is Standupd for?
Anyone who wants to remember the stand-up they have seen. It will feel especially familiar if you already keep a film, book, or music diary and want the same kind of record for comedy.
Is Standupd free?
Yes. Every feature is free. Standupd has no advertising and no recommendation algorithm deciding what you should find funny.
Can I watch stand-up on Standupd?
No. Standupd helps you find, log, rate, and discuss stand-up; it does not host, sell, or stream video.
Can I use Standupd on the web?
Yes. You can create an account, search Standupd, keep your diary, and manage your watchlist in a browser at standupd.com. You do not need to install an app.
Does Standupd have an iOS app?
Yes. Standupd has an iOS app built for iPhone. Download Standupd from the App Store.
Does Standupd have an Android app?
No. Standupd does not currently have an Android app or an announced Android release date. The website works on Android phones in a browser.
Your diary
Logging, ratings, reviews, watchlists, and the difference between live and streamed.
What can I log on Standupd?
You can log any special on Standupd, whether you streamed it or saw the performance live. Pick the date, choose live or streamed, rate it, and optionally write a review.
Do live shows count separately from streamed specials?
Yes. Every entry records live or streamed in its own field. Your profile counts them separately, and every review says how the person watched it.
How do ratings work?
Ratings run from 0.5 to 5 stars in half-star steps. A special only shows an average after somebody has rated it.
How is a special's average rating calculated?
It is the simple average of the ratings people have given it, rounded to one decimal place. Diary entries without a rating are not included.
Do I have to write a review?
No. A rating on its own is a complete diary entry. Reviews are there for the occasions when a row of stars is not enough.
Can I change or delete an entry?
Yes. Open the special while signed in to edit your rating, review, watch type, or date. You can delete the entry from the same place.
What is the watchlist for?
Save specials you want to remember, then open your watchlist when you need the next hour. Removing a special from the watchlist does not affect your diary.
Can I import an existing comedy diary?
Not yet. There is no bulk import, so older watches need to be added one at a time. Use the watched-on date to put them in the right place in your diary.
How does Popular lately work?
Popular lately counts recent logs. Everyone sees the same shelf, and nobody pays to appear in it.

How many stand-up specials are on Standupd?
It currently contains 1,740 specials from 815 comedians. Search Standupd by special, comedian, or year.
How are specials added and checked?
Every entry is checked against Wikipedia in nine languages before it is added. The handful with no usable Wikipedia entry are checked by hand against other published sources. Members can suggest a special; a person checks it before it goes live.
Why are some names spelled with accents?
Standupd stores performer names the way the performers spell them, including Cem Yılmaz, Sofía Niño de Rivera, and Dara Ó Briain. Search ignores accents, so typing “Cem Yilmaz” still finds Cem Yılmaz.
How do I add a special?
Sign in, then open the Add a special form. Enter the title, comedian, year, and an optional synopsis. The form opens a prepared email for you to send. A person checks the details before adding the special to Standupd.
How do I edit a special page?
Email support@standupd.com with a link to the special, the detail that needs changing, and a reliable source. A person checks the correction before it goes live on Standupd.
How do I edit a comedian page?
Email support@standupd.com with a link to the comedian, the detail that needs changing, and a reliable source. A person checks the correction before it goes live on Standupd.
How can a comedian claim their page?
If this is your page, claim it. Create or sign in to a Standupd account, then email support@standupd.com with a link to your page and an official email address or social profile that proves it is you. We will verify the request and link your account to your comedian page. There is no self-serve claim flow yet.
What can a comedian do after their page is claimed?
Once your account is linked, you can submit changes to your bio, photo, specials, and their details. Only your linked account can do this; everyone else sees the normal public page. We review each change before it goes live.
Where does Standupd get its poster artwork?
Release posters come from TMDB and English Wikipedia, and comedian photographs come from Wikimedia. Standupd uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB. When there is no suitable image, the title gets its own generated colour field instead.
Does Standupd tell me where a special is streaming now?
A page may name the platform a special was released on, but streaming licences move around. Treat that as release information rather than a live availability guide.
Profiles and community
Public diaries, following, RSS, moderation, and control over your account.
Are Standupd diaries public?
By default, yes. Your profile, diary entries, ratings, and reviews are public. Your email address and watchlist are never shown on your profile. Turn on Private diary in Settings to hide your diary from everyone but you.
Can I make my Standupd profile private?
Yes. Turn on Private diary in Settings. Your name and your logs stop showing up on special pages, the feed, and your profile — only you can see your own diary. Your ratings still count toward the average.
Can I follow other people?
Yes. When you are signed in, follow a profile to keep that person's entries close at hand. Following does not change which specials appear in search.
Can I follow a diary in an RSS reader?
Yes. Every profile publishes its latest 50 entries at standupd.com/u/NAME/rss.xml, including the rating, date, watch type, and review.
How do I report a review on Standupd?
Sign in and use Report beside the review. Reports are reviewed within 24 hours, and content reported by several people is hidden automatically while it is dealt with. You can also email support@standupd.com.
What happens when I block someone?
Blocking works both ways: you will not see their reviews and they will not see yours. You can manage blocked accounts from Settings.
Who owns the reviews I write?
You do. You give Standupd permission to display what you post as part of the service. The full wording is in the Terms of Use.
How old do I need to be to use Standupd?
You must be at least 13, or the minimum age required in your country if that is higher.

Can I get a copy of my account data?
Yes. Email support@standupd.com to ask for a copy of your account data.
Does Standupd track me or sell my data?

You cannot currently change your username on the website. Your bio is editable in the iPhone app. If you need help with either, email support@standupd.com.
How do I delete my account?
