Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Standupd ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use our mobile application and website (together, the "Service"). Contact us atsupport@standupd.comwith any privacy questions or requests.

What we collect

• Account information: your username, email address, and a securely hashed password. We never store your password in plain text.
• Content you create: your ratings, reviews, watch history, watchlist, and optional profile bio.
• Technical data: standard server logs, including IP addresses and request times, kept briefly for security and debugging.

We do not collect contacts, photos, precise location, or advertising identifiers, and there are no ad SDKs anywhere on the site. We do measure how the site gets used, which the next section sets out in full.

Analytics

We use PostHog to count how the site is used. It records the pages you open, what you type into the catalog search, and a short list of actions: logging a special, adding one, saving one to your watchlist, adding a special to your top five or reordering it, being prompted to sign up after building a top five as a guest, that guest top five being saved to your account once you sign in, sharing your diary, your top five or a special (as a picture, or as a copied link), signing in, signing out, following, unfollowing, reporting or blocking someone, making your diary private or public again, deleting your account. Once you sign in, those are attached to your username.

It does not record your screen, your keystrokes, your mouse, or the text of anything you write. There is no autocapture, so nothing is collected except the events named above. Your IP address reaches PostHog, which turns it into an approximate location — country and city, never a street or a person. Nothing here is sold, and none of it builds an advertising profile.

PostHog is loaded from standupd.com rather than from PostHog's own domain, so your browser makes no request to them directly and your session cookie is stripped before anything is forwarded.

How we use it

We use this information to run your account, publish your ratings and reviews in the public feed and on profile pages, prevent abuse, keep the Service secure, and answer support requests.

Sharing

We do not sell your data. Cloudflare serves the website, Render hosts the API, Neon stores the database, Resend sends password-reset emails, and PostHog counts usage. These providers handle only the information they need to run those parts of Standupd. We may also disclose information when the law requires it.

Catalog images are served from our own img.standupd.com, so no third party sees you looking at one. Poster art comes from TMDB and Wikipedia. Directors come from TMDB too, as do the runtimes, release dates and descriptions our own catalog is missing. Pictures and text alike are fetched when the site is built, not when you read it. This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.

Your rights

You can permanently delete your account and everything you've written from Settings. You may also emailsupport@standupd.comto ask for a copy of your data or request a correction.

Data retention

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. Deleting your account removes your personal data from our production database; backups are purged on a rolling basis within 30 days.

Children's privacy

Standupd is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top. We'll make a reasonable effort to tell active users about significant changes.
